I'M NEW HERE...
WHAT TO EXPECT...
Even though we are small in number, our Sunday gathering will feel somewhat familiar if you have previously attended church.
We meet in the Loughrea Family Resource Centre on Pigott's Street in Loughrea. Our gathering begins at 11AM and wraps up about 12.15PM. We sing, pray, read the Bible and listen to a talk based on a particular Bible passage. We then finish by having some tea, coffee and snacks, and spend time hanging out together.
Our Bible talk is based around the practice of working through the books of the Bible to see what God is saying through them. Of course, this means that sometimes we will be encouraged or challenged, and by doing this we don't avoid some tough parts of the God's Word.
We are also open to asking questions as it is important for us to be a community who learns together, and grows together.
We try to keep things simple and to explain them clearly; we also have a FOUNDATIONS: section giving a snapshot of what we believe which is based upon historic Christian creeds, and we try to use it in a way that is clear and that helps us to understand who God is.
During our gathering, the children stay in while we sing, and then they go out to have some teaching, songs and crafts, called KidZone. During this time, the children follow a similar lesson to the current sermon series that is delivered in an age-appropriate way, so families can be learning together. All of our KidZone teachers are Garda vetted and have undergone TUSLA Child Protection training.
